Colin's 1st Christmas

We had a wonderful first Christmas with Colin. It was truly magical to experience this holiday with him. Here are some of the highlights of our Christmas!

For Christmas Eve we went to my Grandmas' house which is a tradition since I was little. She cooked a yummy dinner for us and we all exchanged gifts afterwards. Colin did great despite being up way past his bedtime! When we left he was sound asleep before we got a mile down the road!

In the past, we would spend Christmas Day going from house to house visiting family. Now that we have our little one, Mario and I decided that we would start the tradition of being home for Christmas. So we came home from Grandmas' on Christmas Eve. We put Colin to bed and starting working on breakfast for the next morning. The menu for breakfast was pecan praline french toast casserole, crockpot breakfast casserole, sausage balls, hot chocolate, coffee, and juice. We got everything ready the night before so that we just had to put things in the oven the next morning. We each opened a Christmas Eve gift which were new pajamas to wear on Christmas morning. Then we decided to camp out in the living room in front of the tree for the night.

On Christmas morning we got up and finished the breakfast preparations. We put Colin in his "My First Christmas" pajamas and got him ready for the day.
The back view...Ho Ho Ho!

My dad, Cecilia, and Grandmas came over around 9:00. They brought in all of the gifts on Colin's new wagon. My dad bought the Radio Flyer wagon for Colin at an estate sale and refinished it. When they stood him up at the wagon, he started attacking the presents like he knew they were for him!

Excited about his presents!

We all had a yummy breakfast together (Colin had oatmeal!) and then we opened presents. Colin lots of toys and books, I got a Kindle Fire, and Mario got a back massager and clothes.

Colin really liked this spinning top:

He also got the most adorable monkey hat!

4 Generations!

After opening presents, he was pretty worn out! He took a nap and slept for 2 hours! Mario's brother Juan and our nephew Juan Jose came back while he was napping. After he woke up my dad, Cecilia and Grandmas headed home just as my mom and Jimmy were arriving. We opened presents with all of them for round 2. Colin ended the day with just about every toy for a 6 month old that you could ever imagine!
Colin and all of his presents! I put away about half of these to get out again in a few months!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! It was so special seeing it through Colin's eyes. Even if he didn't know what was going on, he knew that he was the center of attention and that he was loved (and spoiled!) by all of his family.
