Colin turned 9 months old on March 10, 2012. He went for his 9 month checkup last week and weighed 21 lbs., 9 oz. (79th) and was 27.5 inches long (18th). Here are some of the things our little guy is doing:
-Wearing size 12 month clothing
-Sleeping through the night from about 8pm until around 7am
-Taking 2 naps a day
-Has 3 teeth, with at least 3 more trying to make an appearance
-Crawling everywhere
-Babbling, screaming, and squealing, but the only "word" he says so far is "hey" and "yay" when he claps (but those may be the same word, who knows!)
-Pulling up to stand on everything
-Clapping his hands
-Turning the pages in his books...he loves for us to read to him!
-Eating finger foods. A typical lunch or dinner is rotisserie chicken, vegetables (peas, carrots, green beans), some kind of grain (puffs or rice) and fruit (blueberries, grape slivers, prune puree). We are trying to give him a wide variety of foods in hopes that he will be a good eater in the future. -Drinking water and "juice" (the prune juice leftover from making his puree) from a sippy cup with a straw
-Is still nursing great about 5 times a day
-Loves going for walks and swinging at the neighborhood park
-Loves opening and closing doors and playing with the door stoppers
-Is still in his adorable cloth diapers. I'm so happy that they have worked out so well and I know that we've saved a lot of money.
-He has also tee teed on the potty already. I bought a potty the other day and we just sit him on it in the evenings for a few minutes just to get him comfortable on it so hopefully he won't be afraid of it in the future.
-Gives the sweetest open-mouthed kisses!
