What's in a name?

One of the biggest challenges of this pregnancy has been trying to decide on a name for this little guy. Boy names have never come easily to me and as soon as they said "It's a boy!" I knew it would be an issue. I had a lot of requirements for baby's name. It had to be: easy to pronounce in Spanish and English, not too popular, not too out there, no weird spellings, more than 1 syllable, a name that was not associated with any annoying students I've had, etc. I hated the names that Mario suggested (to name a few: Ziggy, Iker, IƱaki, Emanuel) and he hated the ones I suggested (Carden, Callan, Archer). My family hated my number one choice (Liam) and Mario's parents hated his favorite (Isaac). We became desperate when the name we were jokingly calling him (Bubba) started to stick. We knew we had to find a name fast! Finally I approached Mario with a name that I liked and he liked it too! We decided to "try it out" for a week or so and started referring to the baby by that name. It's still hard to commit when we haven't met him yet, but we have no other ideas! Sooooo...it looks like Baby Boy Cruz's name will be:

So Colin it is! His middle name will be Reeves (my maiden name). We chose this name because on my Dad's side, we are all girls so the last name will not carry on. We thought this would be a good way to carry it on. Besides, it took us long enough to choose a first name-we were too exhausted to think of another one!
