We had a wonderful Halloween weekend and Halloween night with our family. My mom came on Friday night and spent the night and some of the day on Saturday with us. On Sunday we went to my dad's and had lunch. Then we stopped by the Chitlin' Hoedown in Yatesville, GA. There wasn't too much to see there, but we bought a plate of fried chitlins for Mario to try. They smelled soooo nasty and I was gagging. He ate one and was totally disgusted which is rare for Mario since he hardly ever turns down food! After that we went to my dad's hunting land to see the progress on the new cabin that he is building. My stepmom Cecilia took some great family pictures of us. On Halloween my dad and Cecilia came to watch Colin trick or treat. We ate dinner together and then we all headed out for a trip around the block with Colin and the dogs. We were having so much fun seeing all the trick or treaters from the neighborhood that we ended up walking most of the neighborhood before heading back to the house. Colin was so snug in his monkey costume that he fell asleep in his stroller. We had so much fun and although Colin can't eat candy yet, it was well worth it for the experience and fun time we had in our neighborhood! It's amazing how having a baby can totally change your perspective on holidays. It was so rewarding to experience Halloween as a parent for the first time and I can't wait for the future holidays as Colin grows and becomes more aware of what's going on! Here are some photos from the weekend:
My favorite shot of the day!
I love this sweet pic with his daddy!
Sweet boy

I love his grin!

His glow in the dark Halloween pajamas
In his pumpkin outfit during the day on Halloween
He tried on my dad's funny hat and looked so funny!
Heading out to trick or treat
One house in the neighborhood was giving out cotton candy and I got pretty excited!
Back home...a happy monkey with his candy
And here's a picture of the scariest thing from the whole weekend...the chitlins! Mario was feeling gross for a while after eating them and I kept getting random flashback whiffs of them-yuck!

those chitlins look disgusting!!! However, Colin is the cutest little boy ever! I love the black and white pics of him and that first family shot is so great! Hope all is well!
