5 Months Old!

Our precious little monkey is 5 months old today! He has changed so much in the last month. Two weeks ago he weighed 17 lbs, 13 oz and was 25 inches long. Here's what he's doing lately:

-Sleeping about 12 hours total at night and waking up twice to eat, and going right back to sleep

-Taking 3 naps (morning, mid-day, and afternoon) and is on a pretty predictable schedule now

-Sleeping unswaddled! We quit cold turkey on November 1st and after a couple of rough nights, he is doing great. It makes me sad though because he seems like such a big boy when he's not wrapped like a little burrito!

-Still wearing some 3-6 months clothing but quickly moving into 6-9/6-12 month things too

-Still exclusively breastfed and won't be starting solids until at least 6 months

-Babbling all the time

-He especially loves talking to the dogs and he also reaches out to "pet" Ruby and GiGi now. He loves his furry buddies and GiGi especially loves him!

-Blowing raspberries - too cute!

-Rolling over from tummy to back pretty consistently now

-Reaching behind his head for toys and starting the process of rolling from back to tummy (he will do it with a little help)

-Can sit up for a good while unassisted

-He is starting to prefer playing sitting up instead of laying down

-Can also stand propped up for a few seconds

-He loves going for walks in his stroller

-Playing in the Exersaucer and discovering how to work all of the toys

-Sitting in the high chair to play with his toys

-Sitting in the Bumbo chair although he's starting to lean back to get out of it so I'm not sure how much longer he'll be able to use it

-Starting to show preference for who holds him and more times than not he cries when someone other than Mommy or Daddy holds him :(

-Riding in a new convertible car seat (he was getting too heavy for the infant carrier and never seemed to like it much)

He gives his new car seat and smile and a thumbs up!
