Sick!

Well I had my first trip to labor and delivery yesterday. It wasn't exactly how I envisioned it though. Monday evening I came down with some kind of stomach bug and I was having violent vomiting and diarrhea all night long. I couldn't stop and I couldn't keep down any fluids. I called the on-call doctor and he told me to come in. We got to the hospital a little after 5:00am. They gave me lots of fluids and some medicine to stop the vomiting and diarrhea. I was so dehydrated that it took 3 times to get a urine sample with the catheter because the first 2 times I was completely empty...that wasn't fun. They monitored the baby the whole time and he did fine. The doctor kept me until after lunch time to make sure I could keep down some food. We were finally discharged at about 1:30pm. I came home and slept for about 5 hours. I ate some dinner and then I went to bed and slept for another 12 hours. I was exhausted from the whole ordeal, including not sleeping at all the night before. I'm feeling so much better today and I'm so grateful for Mario, the doctor, and nurses who took such great care of me! Now I just need to rest up and get ready for this baby who is due in 8 days! I have an OB appointment tomorrow, so hopefully there will be some progress!
