I wanted to start this blog to document our first pregnancy and to chronicle Baby Boy Cruz's life once he gets here. This fall, after 8 years of marriage, finishing all of our degrees, buying our first home, and securing good jobs, Mario and I decided to take the next big step in our relationship and try to have a baby. Here's the timeline of events since then:
- October 5, 2010 - Positive home pregnancy test (3 weeks, 5 days pregnant)
- October 29, 2010 - 1st doctor's appointment, saw baby's heartbeat on the ultrasound, Due Date = June 16, 2011
- Mid-November - Told our parents and siblings the news
- November 24, 2010 - 2nd doctor's appointment, saw baby again on the ultrasound
- November 25, 2010 - Thanksgiving Day, told our extended family and friends
- December 2, 2010 - 12 Weeks - heard baby's heartbeat on home doppler
- December 23, 2010 - 3D/4D gender scan ultrasound @ 15 weeks, It's a BOY!
- December 25, 2010 - Surprised our family with baby's gender on Christmas morning
- January 20, 2011 - Anatomy scan, gender confirmed & baby boy looks healthy!
- February 12, 2011 - After a long day of shopping for baby gear, Mario and I both felt the baby kick from the outside!
Today, March 14, 2011 - So far, so good! I am feeling great in the 2nd trimester. Baby boy is kicking all the time. We've steadily been working on the nursery and will post picks once it gets further along. Thursday we'll be in the third trimester with only 13 weeks to go!
